These terms govern your use of the website at krawlify.com, the Krawlify software, the alpha hosted relay at alpha.krawlify.com, and the public demo at app.krawlify.com. The operator is Krawlify.com (“Krawlify”, “we”, “us”), contactable at [email protected].
1. Acceptance
By using this website, installing the Krawlify browser extension, running the Krawlify software, signing in to the public demo, or connecting to the alpha hosted relay, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use those things.
If you are using Krawlify on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.
2. What is provided
Krawlify consists of four components:
- the Krawlify app, a self-hosted crawler and audit platform;
- the Krawlify browser extension for Google Chrome;
- the Krawlify relay, a server that connects a DevTools Protocol client to that extension;
- the Krawlify Agent, a command-line tool and Claude Code agent skill.
These are provided as software under the terms set out on the licence page. They are designed to run on infrastructure you control. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no billing relationship — see clause 7 for what that means about what you can expect.
Separately, we may operate a hosted relay at alpha.krawlify.com and a public demo instance at app.krawlify.com as conveniences. Those are services, and clause 5 applies to them.
3. Accounts and tokens
There is no account on krawlify.com and no sign-up. Any account you create exists only inside your own installation of the Krawlify app, on your own database.
The browser extension generates a token locally to identify your browser to a relay. That token is both identity and credential: anything holding it can drive your browser and read what the crawl reads. You are responsible for keeping it secret, for using an https:// relay address when the relay is not on your own machine, and for renewing the token if you believe it has been exposed. Renewing immediately invalidates the previous one.
4. Acceptable use
Krawlify is a tool for auditing websites. What you point it at is your decision and your responsibility.
You must have the right to crawl what you crawl. Before running a crawl you are responsible for confirming that you are permitted to access the target site in an automated fashion — whether by ownership, by contract, by the site's own terms of service, or by explicit permission from the operator.
You agree not to use Krawlify or the hosted relay to:
- access any system you do not own and are not authorised to test;
- circumvent authentication, paywalls, access controls or licence restrictions on systems that are not yours;
- ignore a site's stated crawling preferences where you have no other basis for access, or place unreasonable load on a target — Krawlify's robots.txt handling, concurrency limit and politeness delay exist so you can be a good citizen, and turning them off is a choice you are accountable for;
- collect personal data in breach of applicable data protection law, including the GDPR;
- infringe copyright, database rights, trade marks or any other third-party right;
- conduct denial-of-service activity, distribute malware, or send unsolicited communications;
- violate any applicable law or regulation.
Krawlify can crawl sites that use bot protection. That capability exists so you can audit your own protected sites — the ones where you hold the credentials and the authority. It does not create a right of access to anyone else's.
5. The hosted services
Two hosted services are offered as a convenience: the alpha relay at alpha.krawlify.com and the public demo at app.krawlify.com. Both are provided on a best-effort, alpha basis. In particular:
- there is no uptime commitment, no service level agreement and no support obligation;
- either may be changed, rate-limited, suspended or withdrawn entirely at any time, without notice;
- either may be unavailable for extended periods, without notice or explanation;
- connection events, including timestamps and the token identifying a connection, may be logged for operational purposes, as described in the privacy policy.
If you need a relay you can rely on, run your own. It is one container, and doing so also means no crawl traffic passes through our infrastructure.
5a. The public demo
app.krawlify.com is a shared, publicly accessible sandbox. The sign-in details are published on this website, which means every visitor uses the same administrator account. By using it you accept that:
- nothing in it is private or secure. Anything you enter — crawls, seed URLs, results, API keys, webhook addresses, proxy details — is visible to every other visitor, who can also modify or delete it;
- you must not enter confidential information, personal data, real credentials, real API keys, or a token from your own browser extension;
- the instance is wiped and reset without notice, and nothing in it is backed up or recoverable;
- crawls you start run from our infrastructure and against targets you choose — clause 4 applies in full, and abuse may be rate-limited or blocked;
- it is a demonstration, not a service you may build on. For real work, run your own instance.
6. Intellectual property
The Krawlify software is licensed to you under the terms on the licence page, which govern what you may do with the code. Nothing in these terms restricts the rights that licence grants you.
The name “Krawlify”, the Krawlify logo and the text and design of this website are not covered by that software licence and remain ours. You may refer to Krawlify by name, and quote from this site with attribution; you may not present a modified version of the software as though it were the original, or use the name or mark in a way that suggests endorsement.
Content you crawl remains the property of whoever owns it. We claim no rights in it and never see it unless it passes through the hosted relay in transit.
7. No warranty
The software and the hosted relay are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. This mirrors the disclaimer in the MIT licence under which the software is released.
Specifically, and without limiting the above: we do not warrant that a crawl will succeed against any given site, that bot protection will be passed, that audit results are complete or correct, or that the software is free of defects. SEO findings are informational and are not professional advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the authors, copyright holders or operator be liable for any claim, damages or other liability — whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise — arising from, out of, or in connection with the software, the hosted relay, or the use of or other dealings in them. This includes, without limitation, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory statutory rights that apply to you, and these terms do not affect them.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the authors, copyright holders and operator against any claim, demand, loss or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your use of Krawlify in breach of clause 4, or in breach of any applicable law or third-party right.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the hosted relay at any time, with or without notice, including where we believe it is being used in breach of these terms. Software you have already installed continues to be governed by its licence; these terms cease to apply to the hosted service on termination, while clauses 6 to 9 survive.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change, and material changes will be described here. Continuing to use the website or the hosted relay after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, stop using them — your locally installed software is unaffected.
12. Governing law
To be completed. Governing law and the courts with jurisdiction have not been set for this deployment. Until they are, this clause is intentionally blank rather than filled in with a guess: the applicable law is whatever the relevant statutory rules determine, and no choice of forum is being asserted. Replace this box with your jurisdiction — for example, “These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, and the courts of Sofia have exclusive jurisdiction.”
